Tensions between the United States and Iran reached a new level of escalation on Sunday. US Donald Trump warned on his Truth Social platform: ‘The clock is ticking for Iran, and they better hurry up, otherwise nothing will be left of them. TIME IS RUNNING OUT!’ According to the Guardian, Trump plans to meet with his top security advisers on Tuesday to discuss military options against Iran.

Parallel to Trump’s threat, a drone attack shook the Barakah nuclear plant in the United Arab Emirates. Oman’s Foreign Ministry condemned the attack and called for compliance with international law. The UAE blamed Iran or its proxies for the attack, calling it a ‘dangerous escalation.’ There were no casualties, and radiation levels remained unchanged, according to the operator.

Iran, in turn, demands a permanent ceasefire in Lebanon before it agrees to a comprehensive peace deal with the United States. Saudi Arabia reported shooting down three drones over its territory. Oil prices rose amid uncertainty in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most crucial sea routes for crude oil transport.
