A Russian drone struck a residential building in Romania overnight, as reported by Deutsche Welle. The country is a NATO member. The government in Bucharest responded with diplomatic consequences and expelled the Russian consul.

NATO, the European Union (EU) and Ukraine pledged support to Romania. It is the first time that debris from a Russian drone has caused damage on the territory of a NATO state.
