According to Tagesspiegel, the major overhaul of the Berlin–Hamburg railway line will be completed on Sunday, June 14. Replacement services and diversions for commuters between the two cities will then be lifted. Deutsche Bahn (DB) also announced a small timetable change, bringing new services and shorter travel times on some connections.

The line underwent a fundamental renovation over several months. According to DB, passengers will now benefit from modernized infrastructure that enables more punctual and faster connections. The timetable change also takes effect on Sunday.

The major overhaul included the renewal of tracks, switches, and overhead lines. The goal was to increase reliability on one of Germany’s busiest long-distance rail corridors. The construction work had caused significant disruptions to train services.
