The show ‘Ovo’ premiered in 2010 and has been touring the world in an arena version ever since. It is directed by Laurence Olivier Award-winning dancer Deborah Colker. In Munich, the production will run for only five days, from January 27 to 31, 2027, and will be staged not in its own tent but at the Olympiahalle.
Alongside Cirque du Soleil, Munich’s summer 2025 event calendar features several revivals and tribute shows. The Deutsches Theater will present the musical ‘Sister Act’ starting June 17 and the Beatles musical ‘All You Need Is Love’ from July 15. At the Brunnenhof, Queen and ABBA tribute bands will perform. The GOP Theater will showcase the variety show ‘D.I.S.C.O.’ from July 18.
A special highlight is the musical ‘Die Weiße Rose’ about the resistance group against the Nazi regime, staged at the Festspielhaus Neuschwanstein. The Süddeutsche Zeitung praised the production by Vera Bolten and the music by Alex Melcher, which produced ‘real hits’ such as ‘Heut und in Ewigkeit’.
