Russian forces used heavy weapons in their attacks on Oblast over the past day. According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the regional military administration, 24 aviation strikes targeted 16 settlements. Additionally, 642 drones, mostly FPV types, attacked 30 settlements. Five strikes with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and 216 artillery strikes were recorded.
The attacks targeted civilian infrastructure and residential areas. Authorities reported damage to houses, vehicles, and infrastructure objects. The exact extent of destruction is still being assessed. The administration called on the population to remain cautious and warned of the ongoing threat from Russian shelling.
Oblast, located in southern Ukraine, has been a repeated target of massive attacks since the start of Russia’s war of aggression. The city of Zaporizhzhia itself remains under Ukrainian control, while parts of the oblast are occupied.
