In the overnight Russian air strikes, a total of three people were killed in Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region and in the village of Stepanivka in the Sumy region, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky. In Kramatorsk, the entrance of a ten-story building collapsed from the first to the sixth floor due to a Russian bomb, killing one person and injuring 16 others (now already 17 – ed.). In Stepanivka, two people, including a child, were killed when Shahed drones struck a private house. In Smila in the Cherkasy region, a Russian drone hit a nine-story building, causing fires on several floors and injuring five people.
Zelensky added that the Cherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, and Chernihiv regions were also attacked overnight. According to the president, there are injured people in the regions, including children, and high-rise buildings, private houses, and infrastructure facilities were damaged. All the injured are receiving medical care.
He stressed that Russian missiles, bombs, and drones can be stopped not in Ukrainian airspace but in the production phase. He also noted that Russia uses about 220 guided aerial bombs daily against Ukrainian communities at the front, which are produced and modified by the aggressor’s defense industry despite sanctions. He called for pressure on every supply chain of foreign components and on every company that works for attacks against life.
As reported, air defense forces neutralized 90 of the 112 drones that Russian attackers had used for their strikes on Ukraine since the evening of August 13.
