During a Russian drone attack on the Lviv region, two residential buildings caught fire and three cars were damaged in the village of Murovane in Lviv Raion overnight into Tuesday. This was reported by the head of the Lviv region military administration, Maksym Kosyzkyj, on social media, as reported by the news agency Ukrinform and the news outlet Ukrajinska Prawda on 13 October.
“According to preliminary information, during the air alert a downed enemy drone crashed onto a residential building in the village of Murovane in Lviv Raion. Two houses are on fire,” Ukrinform quotes Kosyzkyj. According to him, three cars were also damaged. There was initially no information about injuries, and all emergency services were deployed.
The information is based on the regional governor and is preliminary. There is no independent confirmation of the damage by a second authority in the sources.
Rivne and Sarny also hit
The attacks that same night also targeted the Rivne region. As the news outlet Slowo i Dilo reports, citing the head of the Rivne region military administration, Oleksandr Kowal, the city of Rivne was attacked. “The regional centre was attacked a few minutes ago. A building not used for residential purposes was damaged. According to preliminary information, no people were injured,” Kowal wrote initially, according to the report.
Later, according to Slowo i Dilo, the official also reported attacks on Sarny Raion in the Rivne region. There, several impacts of enemy drones on decommissioned enterprises were registered, and civilian infrastructure was also damaged. According to information from local channels cited by Slowo i Dilo, these are dormitories and residential buildings.
Ukrinform reports, citing the air defence, that the Ukrainian armed forces intercepted 89 of more than 120 drones with which Russian troops had attacked Ukraine since the evening of 11 October. This figure refers to the period since the evening of 11 October and is a cumulative value that does not cover only the attacks of the night into 13 October.
Attacks on Kharkiv and Kyiv in the preceding days
The attacks on western Ukraine are linked to several Russian air strikes in recent days. Slowo i Dilo reports that Russian troops attacked the Cholodna Hora district of Kharkiv with “Banderol” missiles on Monday evening, 12 October. A five-storey residential building was hit and an entrance was completely destroyed. In the massive attack with S-8000 “Banderol” missiles on Kharkiv, at least eleven civilians were injured, two of whom are being treated in hospital in a serious condition.
In addition, Slowo i Dilo reports that Russian troops attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles, with explosions heard in the capital. Hits were registered on a transport infrastructure facility and on a warehouse building. The death toll after the impact on a 25-storey building in Darnyzja Raion has risen to two.
The information on Kharkiv and Kyiv comes from the report by Slowo i Dilo and refers to the evening of 12 October and to a time not specified in more detail, respectively. There is no confirmation by a second source in the available selection.
What remains open so far
No information was available on Tuesday morning about possible injuries in the Lviv region and the Rivne region. The authorities speak of preliminary information. Whether the fires in Murovane could be brought under control and how high the material damage is cannot be seen from the reports.
Editor’s note: The description of the events is based on information from Ukrainian regional administrations, which is usually published promptly but not conclusively. There are no independent confirmations for the Lviv region and the Rivne region. The number of intercepted drones refers to a period of several days and cannot be attributed solely to the night into 13 October.
