The weekend after the autumn break is calmer, a good moment for places that are usually crowded. Four ideas for Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, based on the organisers’ own information.
Museum Mensch und Natur (Nymphenburg). Open Saturday and Sunday 10am to 6pm, last entry 30 minutes before closing. Children and young people under 18 get in free; under-12s must be accompanied by an adult. Adults pay €3.50, and just €1 on Sundays. The special exhibition “Jetzt geht’s rund” on the circular economy runs until 10 January 2027, and visitors can design their own sustainable sneaker. The box office does not take cards, so an online MünchenTicket slot is easier. More on the Sunday dates: Munich museums for €1 or free.
Flugwerft Schleißheim. Daily 9am to 5pm, Effnerstraße 18, Oberschleißheim. A day ticket costs €11, reduced €7, and children up to and including age 5 are free. Take the S1 to Oberschleißheim, then walk about 15 minutes. The “Inside the Suit” spacesuit exhibition runs until 30 November.
Theatre: Kalif Storch. Saturday 3pm at the Münchner Theater für Kinder (Dachauer Straße 46), from age 6, 1 hour 35 minutes including an interval. Tickets cost €13 to €18 depending on the seat; a München-Pass or Familienpass takes €1.50 off, but only at the theatre box office (Saturday 10am to noon). The programme also lists “Die Sterntaler” (Saturday 10am), “Peter Pan” (Sunday 10am) and “Die kleine Zauberflöte” (Sunday 3pm); check the recommended age when booking.
Theatre: Tabaluga. The children’s musical “Es lebe die Freundschaft” plays on Saturday at 2pm and 5pm at the Münchner Marionettentheater (Blumenstraße 32), from age 5, about 90 minutes with an interval. The price is only shown on the MünchenTicket page.
If you are hoping for a lantern walk: St Martin’s Day is Wednesday 11 November. No date has been published yet for the city-centre parishes’ procession; parishes are announcing theirs gradually. Seats at theatres and museums are limited at weekends, so booking today or tomorrow is safer.
