Following a water pipe break in front of the Harburg District Court, the B73 is closed in both directions. According to a spokesperson from Hamburg Wasser, the closure will last at least until Sunday. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, causing the sidewalk and road to be undermined.

Several deep depressions are visible on Buxtehuder Straße, where paving stones have sunk. In a nearby apartment building, water reached hip height in the basement. The police have completely closed the road for several hundred meters to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

A emergency crew from Hamburg Wasser is currently working to temporarily restore the sidewalk. “We are working on a solution that will at least allow provisional traffic to resume by Monday morning,” the spokesperson stated. It is planned that at least one lane in each direction can be opened, but this depends on the progress of the repairs.

Buxtehuder Straße connects the B75 and the Harburg city center with the A7. Drivers cannot currently use the detour via Fürstenmoordamm and the A7 junction Hausbruch, as these are also closed due to construction work. Additionally, a replacement bus service for the S-Bahn is operating along Buxtehuder Straße, as S-Bahn traffic to Harburg is interrupted due to construction work.
