Bret Michaels, frontman of Poison, cited the increasingly divisive atmosphere around the event and specific threats as reasons for his withdrawal on Friday. “What was presented to us as a celebration of our country has turned into something far more divisive than I agreed to,” Michaels wrote on social media. He stressed that his decision was “not political.”

Earlier, Morris Day, Young MC, the Commodores, C+C Music Factory, Martina McBride, and Milli Vanilli had either canceled or expressed surprise at being booked. The concert series “Freedom 250” was meant to mark the US anniversary in 2026 but is organized by circles close to Trump.

EuroPulse reported on May 28, 2026, about Trump’s domestic political crisis caused by the Iran war (https://europulse.today/trump-iran-peace-deal-republican-anger-midterms/).
