Construction sites are disrupting rail traffic in and around Munich. Passengers must prepare for S-Bahn restrictions on some days.

Deutsche Bahn is starting further construction work. On the line between Munich and Buchloe, passengers on S-Bahn line S4 as well as regional and long-distance services must expect timetable changes with replacement transport from Wednesday, 26 August, 4 a.m., to Saturday, 5 September, 4 a.m. The line between Fürstenfeldbruck and Kaufering can only be used to a limited extent. DB is renewing tracks in the Kaufering area and replacing three switches in Fürstenfeldbruck. To bundle as many construction measures as possible, two new railway overpasses in Geltendorf and Epfenhausen are also being moved into their final position.

S-Bahn services are affected as follows: Between Puchheim and Buchenau, buses replace trains on line S4. In addition, an extra replacement bus service runs hourly during the day between Buchenau, Fürstenfeldbruck, and Germering-Unterpfaffenhofen, where connections to lines S5 and S8 are available. The supplementary replacement service operates between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m., and on weekends between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Between Munich and Puchheim, S-Bahn trains run regularly, but in Puchheim they stop on track 2 in the city-bound direction. Between Buchenau and Geltendorf, S-Bahn trains run every half hour.

For regional traffic: Between Munich Central Station and Buchloe, direct buses replace trains on lines RE 70/RE 76 (DB Regio) and RE 72/RE 96 (Arverio) from Lindau/Memmingen every half hour. In Buchloe, there are connections to the trains of the mentioned lines to Lindau via Kempten or Memmingen. In addition, a replacement bus runs for line RB 74 between Munich and Kaufering, stopping in Geltendorf and at Donnersbergerbrücke.

Between Buchloe and Kaufering, a shuttle train of the Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB) runs every half hour; in Kaufering, there is a connection to the replacement service to Geltendorf. In Geltendorf, there is a connection to S-Bahn trains towards the city. BRB trains from Füssen (RB 68) continue to Augsburg without changing trains. BRB passengers heading to Munich can change in Buchloe to the replacement service of Arverio and DB.

Long-distance traffic is also affected: Trains on the ECE line 88 (Munich – Lindau – Zurich) only run on the section between Lindau-Reutin and Zurich. A replacement bus service is set up between Munich ZOB (Hackerbrücke) and Lindau-Reutin.

Due to another construction site in Pasing, there will also be train cancellations and changed departure times between Pasing and Herrsching from Wednesday, 26 August, 10:30 p.m., continuously until Monday, 31 August, 4 a.m.

For the S3: Trains on the ten-minute cycle are cancelled all day. Line S5 runs all day from Pasing to Herrsching with changed departure times. The S8 is diverted all day from Pasing to Gauting.

DB advises passengers to use the S8 trains between Gauting and Pasing, because the S6 trains are already very crowded with passengers from the Werdenfelsbahn.
