Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez warned the UN Security Council about the consequences of US sanctions. The measures taken by the United States are driving the island into a humanitarian catastrophe, Rodriguez said on Tuesday in New York. Tensions between Havana and Washington have recently escalated.
Rodriguez called on the international community to show solidarity with Cuba. He accused the US of deliberately weakening the country’s economy with the sanctions. The Cuban government is suffering from a severe supply crisis, which is being further exacerbated by US policy.
