The incident occurred on Tuesday in Dortmund. After firing at the officer, the perpetrator fled into his apartment, prompting police to declare a threat situation and call in special forces (SEK).
For hours, there was uncertainty about the situation inside the apartment, where three children were also present. Police spoke of an acute danger to the children and the fleeing shooter. Eventually, the man surrendered to the officers, and police gave the all-clear.
