Year after year, Germany attracts millions of music fans who celebrate at festivals of all genres – from rock and pop to hip-hop and electronic music. The range of events stretches from idyllic natural settings on the North Sea coast to spectacular festival cities with specially built stage landscapes. Anyone who hasn't fully planned their summer yet will find plenty of opportunities in the coming weeks and months.
After Rock am Ring, Germany still has numerous giant festivals with international stars waiting for music fans in 2026. Southside, Hurricane, Airbeat One, Deichbrand, PAROOKAVILLE, Lollapalooza Berlin, San Hejmo, and the Glücksgefühle Festival are among the events still on the program between June and September.
The Airbeat One Festival at the airfield in Neustadt-Glewe is one of the largest festivals for electronic dance music in Germany and Europe. Recently, it attracted over 210,000 visitors. In 2026, performers include Boris Brejcha, Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens, Scooter, Timmy Trumpet, and Brennan Heart. A special attraction remains the annually changing country motto, reflected in elaborate stage decorations and the entire site design. This year, the theme is the Netherlands.
The Deichbrand Open Air in Cuxhaven is the only major German festival directly on the North Sea. The 2026 genre spectrum ranges from rock and punk to hip-hop and electronic music: Rise Against, Electric Callboy, Dropkick Murphys, and Beatsteaks share the stage with Marteria, Sido, and Felix Jaehn. Besides the music program, the festival offers a maritime supporting program with kitesurfing, wakeboarding, beach volleyball, and mudflat hiking.
PAROOKAVILLE on the grounds of a former military airfield in Weeze on the Lower Rhine is far more than a music festival. For the weekend, a complete fictional city emerges. In 2026, Armin van Buuren, Charlotte de Witte, The Chainsmokers, Axwell, and Scooter are confirmed as headliners. From progressive anthems to chart hits and nostalgic rave classics, the lineup covers the entire spectrum of electronic dance music.
Lollapalooza in Berlin is one of the largest music festivals in Europe and takes its visitors on a colorful musical journey over two summer days. The 2026 lineup brings together international stars such as Lorde, Lewis Capaldi, Teddy Swims, Zara Larsson, Pitbull, Tom Odell, and Ayliva. The diverse program of pop, indie, and urban music makes the Berlin festival one of the most varied dates of the entire festival summer.
