The memorandum of understanding comprises 14 points.

13:45 — The BBC quotes its Lyse Doucet asking whether the memorandum of understanding might soon be called a “memorandum of misunderstanding.” In it, Iran “reaffirms” its commitment not to acquire nuclear weapons — a pledge Tehran has repeated for years. Trump withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal during his first term and promised to negotiate a better one.

13:10 — The agreement does not include Trump’s specific demand to ship what he calls “nuclear dust” to the United States. Instead, it merely mentions “downblending” Iran’s 440 kilograms of uranium enriched to about 60 percent — close to weapons grade. Iran had already made this concession in Geneva in February 2026, two days before the war began.

12:35 — In exchange for concessions on dismantling its nuclear program, Iran receives immediate relief: exports of crude oil and petroleum products are permitted, and a $300 billion reconstruction fund is established. According to BBC correspondent Doucet, Iran is likely “quite confident and fairly satisfied” with the deal this morning.

12:00 — The signing takes place against the backdrop of a war that began after talks in Geneva collapsed. The agreement is intended to serve as a basis for further negotiations.
