Natalija Melnychuk, a zookeeper at the zoo, explained: "At first, it was a bit more difficult, but now we have gotten used to it." She emphasizes that the monkeys are very scared during the war, just like the people. "We calm them down and tell them that everything is okay and they don’t have to be afraid," she added.
Providing fresh food is one of the biggest challenges the zoo has to manage. The staff works with great dedication and care to ensure that the animals are well taken care of despite the adverse circumstances. The zoo has already survived a harsh winter, and the staff is determined to continue fighting for the well-being of the animals.
