Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on May 13 that Russia has launched at least 800 drones against Ukraine since the start of the day. The attacks are specifically aimed at regions close to NATO borders, including Zakarpattia, Lviv, and Volyn. So far, six people have died, and dozens have been injured, including children.

Zelensky stated that Russian forces have been firing waves of “Shaheds” at Ukrainian territories throughout the day. The attacks are not random and occur at a geopolitically tense moment, particularly with the upcoming visit of U.S. President Donald Trump to China.

According to Ukrainian military sources, missile strikes from Russia could follow the drone attacks. Zelensky emphasized the need to clearly recognize Russia’s true intentions and to increase pressure on the aggressor to end the terror.
