Ukraine’s prosecutor’s office said Russian forces attacked a bus on a road in Kherson with a drone. Preliminary reports indicate four civilian passengers were killed. President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack on an “ordinary minibus” as part of a “vicious Russian safari” against the city’s residents.
Police released images showing the blood-stained floor of the vehicle, shattered windows, and a damaged roof. Zelensky stressed that partners are hesitating to deliver defense equipment while the Russians have long been “out of control.” Kherson was occupied by Russian troops from March to November 2022 and has since faced regular drone attacks from positions across the Dnipro River.
Earlier this month, Ukraine accused Russia of hunting a civilian on a market in Kherson with an FPV drone and detonating the explosive charge. The man survived but suffered shock and shrapnel injuries. The United Nations reports a rise in civilian deaths in 2026 in the war that has lasted four and a half years.
