The attack hit, among other targets, a warehouse of the Russian online retailer Wildberries in Koledino, about 25 kilometers from the center of Moscow. Three people were injured there, as Moscow’s mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced. The governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, spoke of one of the most massive drone attacks in recent history.
In the southwestern Russian region of Rostov, five people died in nighttime attacks. In Belgorod, on the border with Ukraine, a woman was killed when a civilian bus was hit. An 83-year-old man died in a drone attack in the Moscow region.
At the same time, Russia attacked Ukraine: there, at least seven people were killed and more than 39 injured. In the Zaporizhzhia region, a 66-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman died when their house was hit by a guided air bomb. In Kryvyi Rih, two people died, and in the Sumy, Donetsk, and Kherson regions, one person each.
In Kyiv, air raid sirens wailed four times during the night. A book market in the Pochaina district was damaged, with books lying burnt on the ground. 69-year-old Valentyna recognized the books of her husband, who had run a stall there. A record dealer said she lost goods worth 500,000 hryvnias (about 8,262 euros).
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that 13 regions had been attacked this week. Russia had used more than 1,550 attack drones, almost 1,560 guided air bombs, and 62 missiles. “Wherever the Russians get with their ballistic missiles, they attack civilian infrastructure,” Zelenskyy said.
