As the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN exclusively reports, Ukrainian Minister Mykhailo Svygiha has sharply responded in a current statement to inquiries from Russian propagandists about a possible meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the information, the minister was "bombarded" by the propagandists with questions about such a possible encounter, to which he gave a clear answer.

According to information from UNIAN, Svygiha decisively rejected the portrayals and insinuations of the Russian side. In his response, he sharply criticized the manner of questioning and the underlying narratives. The agency quotes the minister as saying that such questions are part of a targeted disinformation campaign aimed at distracting from the actual events.

The Russian propagandists had, according to UNIAN, repeatedly addressed the possibility of direct dialogue between Zelenskyy and Putin, implicitly suggesting that the Ukrainian side would avoid such a meeting. Svygiha countered these accusations with clear words and emphasized the position of the Ukrainian government, which continues to be based on a peaceful resolution of the conflict, but under clear conditions.

As UNIAN further reports, the minister also referred in his response to the ongoing military confrontations and the humanitarian situation in Ukraine. He made it clear that the Ukrainian leadership is ready for negotiations at any time, but not under conditions that call into question the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. Russian propaganda is attempting, through such staged questions, to divert attention from its own aggressions and to portray the Ukrainian side in a false light.

The reaction from Svygiha is understood in Ukrainian government circles as a clear signal that they will not engage in rhetorical games. As UNIAN reports, the minister additionally emphasized that the priorities of the Ukrainian government continue to lie in defending the country and supporting the population, not in speculative meetings that would be instrumentalized by the opposing side.

The Russian propagandists had posed the questions in the context of ongoing diplomatic tensions, as UNIAN explains. Since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine in February 2022, direct talks between Zelenskyy and Putin have been rare and characterized by high hurdles. The Ukrainian side has repeatedly emphasized that talks are only possible under certain conditions, including a complete withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory.

Svygiha's sharp response thus reflects the current stance of Kyiv, which is directed against any form of narratives that could weaken or relativize the Ukrainian position. As UNIAN reports, the minister's statement underscores the determination to counter propaganda with facts and to maintain focus on the actual challenges facing Ukraine.
