Unions and Employers Consult with Head of Chancellery Frei

The meeting is a follow-up to a first high-level discussion on June 10, which covered the labor market, social insurance, cutting red tape, and tax policy. At that time, the Union, SPD, and social partners agreed to further consultations. A government spokesman told the German Press Agency that the meeting at the Chancellery would take place in the afternoon as a follow-up to the meeting with the social partners.

Head of the Chancellery Thorsten Frei is leading the round, while Friedrich Merz is not present this time, according to participant circles. The black-red coalition wants to push through fundamental reforms before the parliamentary summer break.
