Zelensky expressed optimism about the collaboration between Ukraine and Germany in the defense sector. "I am very glad that we have started to expand cooperation between our countries. I believe this is a real step forward – a strong step," he said. The six projects are just the beginning of the cooperation, the president added.
The Ukrainian president thanked Boris Pistorius for the contract signed last month to strengthen Ukraine's air defense. Zelensky did not disclose details about the projects to surprise the Russian forces. "This is meant to be a surprise for the Russians," he explained.
Pistorius also announced the joint development and production of drones with ranges of up to 1,500 kilometers. Drones are expected to make a significant contribution to Ukraine's defense capabilities.
Zelensky also highlighted Germany's contribution to supporting the Ukrainian energy sector, which is of great importance in the current situation. Cooperation in arms production is seen as crucial for strengthening Ukraine's defense.
