On Friday evening, an explosion occurred on Quedlinburger Straße in Berlin-Hellersdorf, startling residents. The Berlin police confirmed that the explosion was caused by the improper use of a gas burner in an apartment. Fortunately, there were no injuries among the tenants or other residents of the building.
According to the police situation report, two men, who are tenants of the affected apartment, were briefly detained. A large sum of cash was found with them; however, the police clarified that there was no connection between the explosion and the amount of money.
The residential building remains habitable, and the police have launched an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident. Residents were informed about the situation and expressed relief that there were no injuries.
