The strikes sparked fires in three city districts. Eight people died in the capital, and four more in the nearby town of Boryspil, where a residential building was hit. Among the dead is an Indian man who turned 26 on Tuesday, according to Interior Minister Iwan Wyschywskyj.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday morning that Russia had fired a “significant number of jets and ballistic missiles.” Around 350 rescue workers were deployed overnight. This is the sixth consecutive day of Russian attacks on Kyiv – a strategy aimed at exhausting Ukraine’s air defenses.
Russia claims it struck military and energy facilities with “massive strikes using high-precision weapons.” Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war. The attacks follow a strike on a weapons depot in the Kyiv region on Friday that killed 38 people.
