Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who as president of Iran threatened to annihilate Israel, was allegedly at the center of a secret US-Israeli plan for a regime change in Tehran, according to a report by Spiegel.

Ahmadinejad served as Iran’s president from 2005 to 2013 and repeatedly sparked international outrage. He questioned the Holocaust and called for the destruction of Israel. Now, according to the report, he was allegedly brought into play by the US and Israel as a possible new leader of Iran.
