Taiwanese-American entrepreneur Jensen Huang, 63, CEO of chipmaker Nvidia, was part of the delegation accompanying US Donald Trump on his trip to Beijing nearly two weeks ago. Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping aimed to break the ice during the first state visit in nine years. They had plenty to discuss: an unresolved tariff war, sanctions, geopolitics, and trade deficits.

Huang used the time for a side trip to a bustling tourist street. A Beijing tofu vendor immediately recognized the Nvidia chief: “I knew right away: That’s the guy who jumped on Donald Trump’s flight to China at the last second,” the 21-year-old told Spiegel. Huang first bought tofu cubes at his stall. The vendor hung up a poster with a joint photo and hopes for some luck: “He’s one of the richest men in the world, right?”

Huang also handed out sweets and ate noodles. He is hoping for better luck in China – a hint at strained trade relations and the chip industry’s hope for improved market access. EuroPulse reported on May 24, 2026, about Trump’s expectation of a timely deal with Iran, https://europulse.today/trump-erwartet-zeitnahe-einigung-mit-iran/.
