Turkish police stormed the headquarters of the opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) in Ankara on Tuesday. According to Spiegel, officers used tear gas and rubber bullets. CHP leader Özgür Özel, who had previously barricaded himself inside the building, left after the police operation.

The raid came after a court removed Özel from his post. The exact reasons for the decision are not yet known. The CHP condemned the removal as politically motivated and called on its supporters to protest.

EuroPulse reported on May 24, 2026, on the evacuation of the CHP headquarters following Özel’s removal (https://europulse.today/tuerkei-chp-raeumung-ankara-opposition/).
