US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has floated the possibility of easing sanctions against Iran. According to 24tv, Bessent made the condition that both countries reach an agreement. If no deal is struck, tougher sanctions are threatened.
Bessent reportedly commented on Washington’s economic leverage against Tehran. The US is thus pursuing a combination of negotiation offer and threat of punishment to achieve a diplomatic solution.
