The Museum Europäischer Kulturen (MEK) announced that the exhibition ‘The Mountains of Tyrol’ will display historical postcards, hiking sticks, and photographs from its own collection from July 29, 2026, to April 25, 2027. The exhibits date mainly from the 1930s to the 1960s and showcase everyday culture in the Alpine region.
The opening takes place on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 4:00 pm. Admission is free, and no registration is required. A press tour will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 10:00 am.
The exhibition is part of the European Cultural Days: Tyrol, which run from July 26 to August 23, 2026. The MEK will display, among other items, a hiking stick with hobnails and a photograph of a milk cable car from the Lechtal valley.
