US Donald Trump had threatened a ‘very strong strike’ against Iran via social media. In response, the leaders of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan called Trump to dissuade him from the attack, Ukrainska Pravda reports, citing informed sources.

The callers assured Trump that a preliminary agreement with Iran was nearly ready. Trump then cancelled the planned strikes, citing the imminent finalization of the agreement points. A memorandum of understanding could be signed in Europe and may include the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and sanctions relief.
