Rhineland-Palatinate’s Minister President Schnieder expressed concern about the development of pharmaceutical research in Germany in an interview with Deutschlandfunk. He fears that the planned healthcare reform could weaken the competitiveness of the location.
Schnieder emphasized the importance of the pharmaceutical industry for Rhineland-Palatinate, where numerous companies in the sector are based. The reform must not lead to research and development being relocated abroad.
The CDU politician called on the federal government to give greater consideration to the interests of research-based pharmaceutical companies. Only in this way can Germany maintain its leading position in medical research.
