The festive gala at the Ohnsorg Theatre in Hamburg has been running since early evening. The winners of the Low German storytelling competition “Vertell doch mal” are being announced there. NDR is broadcasting the event live via livestream.
This year’s competition was held under the motto “Kuddelmuddel” (chaos). From January 1 to March 1, over 500 entries were submitted. Prize money totaling more than 5,000 euros is being awarded. The 25 best entries will also appear in a book.
For the first time, there is a separate “Ünner-18-Pries” (Under-18 Prize) with an increased prize fund of 1,000 euros. Children and teenagers could participate with various formats – from short stories to TikTok videos, podcasts, and comics. Group work by school classes or youth fire brigades was expressly encouraged.
