Russian President Vladimir Putin and US Donald Trump spoke by phone about Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. The conversation lasted about 55 minutes and, according to the Kremlin, had a ‘friendly and open character,’ as 24tv reported citing Russian propaganda media.

Trump reportedly emphasized the need for a ceasefire, while Putin said that Ukrainian attacks on civilian targets in Russia complicate a peaceful resolution. The US president is also ready to exert influence on both European partners and Ukraine to reach an agreement. Putin suggested that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky could come to Moscow for a meeting — a provocation, as Russian troops continue to occupy Ukrainian territory.

In addition to the Ukraine war, the two presidents also discussed US-Iranian talks on a possible agreement. Trump expects quick results from these consultations. Russian media also reported that US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner could travel to Moscow soon.

EuroPulse reported on June 13, 2026, that Putin himself admitted Ukrainian drones were paralyzing Russian troops (europulse.today/putin-drohnen-ukraine-russische-truppen-laehmung).
