Munich police arrested two men on Wednesday who had previously robbed a jewelry store in the city center. After the crime, the perpetrators fled in a vehicle, prompting police to launch a large-scale manhunt involving 40 patrol cars and a helicopter. A third man was also arrested; his involvement is still being investigated, a police spokesperson said.
The men had broken into the inconspicuous jewelry store, which has no window display and sells luxury watches among other items. According to police, they stole goods worth several hundred thousand euros. Evidence was secured in the suspects’ vehicle, but it remained unclear whether it was the loot.
The four people present in the store were unharmed. The arrested individuals were taken to a detention facility and are to be presented to the investigating judge on Thursday.
