On the platform Truth Social, he stated that Iran had carried out at least four drone attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. One cargo ship was hit but was able to continue its journey despite sustaining damage.
The US military successfully intercepted the other three drones. Trump described the attacks as a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement, without providing further details on the timing of the attacks. The incident became known on Thursday when the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that an unknown projectile had damaged the bridge of a cargo ship.
The incident occurred off the coast of Oman, shortly after Iran’s Revolutionary Guards had warned that transits were only safe on routes designated by Tehran.
