The renovation at the Gambacher Kreuz will take place in three construction phases, each affecting different connecting ramps. Autobahn GmbH announced the measures to repair significant damage to the road surfaces and ensure traffic safety.
In the first phase from July 1 to 12, the ramp from the A5 toward Kassel to the A45 toward Hanau will be fully closed. The detour U21 leads from the Butzbach junction via country roads to the Münzenberg junction. On the A45 itself, lanes toward Hanau will be narrowed.
From July 15 to 26, the section from the A45 toward Dortmund to the A5 toward Kassel will be closed. The detour U97 directs traffic from Münzenberg via country roads back to the A5 at Butzbach. Here too, lanes on the A45 toward Dortmund will be narrowed.
The third construction phase begins on July 28 at 9:30 a.m. and affects the A45 toward Hanau to the A5 toward Basel. The exit to the A5 will be shortened, and lanes narrowed. Work ends on August 4 at 3:30 p.m. Drivers should allow extra time in all phases and follow the signed diversion routes.
