In Doha, the US and Iran have again held indirect talks on a permanent ceasefire. US Donald Trump expressed optimism, saying Iran's denuclearization is progressing well.

Representatives of both countries met in the Qatari capital for technical talks. The focus was on shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and a permanent ceasefire. Trump told journalists: “We get along very well.”

The Iranian delegation is led by Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi. Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bakaei stressed that there are no plans for negotiations with the US side at any level in the coming days. This contradicted Trump’s earlier announcement that direct talks were planned.

Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff held preparatory talks with Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani. The discussions covered negotiations with Iran and the situation in Lebanon. Qatar is mediating jointly with Pakistan.
