Today, the Schlagermove parade with around 50 trucks and hundreds of thousands of Schlager fans will move through the St. Pauli district, causing numerous road closures.

The Schlager caravan starts at 3 p.m. at Heiligengeistfeld and passes through Millerntorplatz, Landungsbrücken, Hafenstraße and the Reeperbahn before returning to the starting point. On the trucks, artists including Karl König, Peter Sebastian, Rosanna Rocci and Peter Orloff will provide entertainment. Meanwhile, DJ Andi B will be playing at Heiligengeistfeld from noon to midnight.

Due to the parade, the Reeperbahn will remain closed until 3 a.m. on Sunday. The trucks begin assembling around 1 p.m., with the first ones returning between 8 and 8:30 p.m. After the parade, visitors can celebrate at the official after-move party at Hamburger Docks with DJ Vossi and The Real DJ Maikel.

The organizers have set up around 500 toilet units along the route, including special women’s toilet containers with cleaning staff. Around 300 paramedics are on duty, and playgrounds in the Kiez area are being guarded. People in distress can discreetly ask stewards for help using the code word ‘Do you have soft ice cream?’ A converted wheelchair truck from the support group for accident-injured children and muscular dystrophy aid is participating for the sixth time.

The Schlagermove is taking place for the 28th time this year and, according to the city, is one of the largest Schlager events in Germany. Last year, around 300,000 visitors attended.
