The now-PhD doctor repeatedly gave medical advice in a chat group on how to sedate women. The Berlin Regional Court convicted him of aiding and abetting rape and sexual coercion in three cases. A member of the chat group had used the recommended sedative, the judge said.
The presiding judge described the acts as “misogynistic because women are degraded to mere objects.” The court considered it proven that the defendant had sexually coerced his fiancée in a hotel room in Beijing in 2020 and 2021 – also under sedation. Other men were partly involved.
The investigation into a network of predominantly Chinese men was triggered by a report from the Hessian State Criminal Police Office. During a search, video files were seized that allegedly show the acts. The defendant has been in pre-trial detention since September 2025. The verdict is not yet final.
