Iranian forces have attacked facilities in Jordan and Bahrain where US troops are stationed. This comes amid rising tensions with the United States, according to Der Spiegel.

Jordan’s military reported on Friday that it had intercepted and shot down seven Iranian rockets and six drones. There were no casualties or damage. The Gulf state of Bahrain also reported renewed shelling. Its air defense had repelled several projectiles from Iran, the Bahraini armed forces said. No details on the number or possible damage were given.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards confirmed the attacks and reported at least one more on the US base Al-Adiri in Kuwait. A watchtower of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain had also been shelled, the Iranian news agency Tasnim reported, citing the elite unit.

The US military said it had struck targets in Iran for the 13th consecutive night. The latest attacks lasted more than two hours, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said. Targets included Iranian military command centers, drone storage facilities, communication networks, coastal surveillance sites, and maritime capabilities. The aim was to further reduce the threat from Iran to civilian shipping and merchant vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
