The line between Berlin and Hamburg will be closed from Saturday night to Sunday. The reason is final remaining work after the major renovation, as a railway spokesman told rbb|24. DB InfraGO is eliminating remaining defects along the entire route and carrying out optimizations that were identified after several weeks of full operation.
During the closure, individual long-distance and freight trains will be diverted. Replacement services are planned for regional traffic. For example, individual trains on the RE2 line between Nauen and Falkensee will be replaced by buses, as will several trains on the RB14 line. On the RE8 and RB10 lines, according to transport company Odeg, no trains will run between Berlin Hauptbahnhof and Paulinenaue from around 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening to 8 a.m. Sunday morning. Replacement bus services will only run between Paulinenaue and Berlin-Spandau; between Spandau and Hauptbahnhof, travelers are advised to use alternative train connections. From Sunday at 11:00 a.m., all regional trains are expected to run through again, Deutsche Bahn announced.
