The Autobahn GmbH has finished the renovation work at the Kiel-West motorway interchange ahead of schedule. Originally, the route was set to be completed by May 15, but due to favorable weather and optimal working conditions, it was finished on May 17. The roadway had numerous damages, including cracks and potholes that had not been repaired since 2009.

Torben Wiencke from Autobahn GmbH stated, "The work was carried out swiftly, as there were hardly any personnel shortages and the machinery functioned perfectly." The closure affected not only the A210 towards Rendsburg but also the Mettenhof access road to the A210.

Starting May 18, the next construction works will begin, lasting until June 12. During this time, the A210 from Rendsburg to Kiel and the exit from the A210 onto the A215 southbound will be closed. Drivers should expect detours to navigate around the construction sites.

The Autobahn GmbH recommends taking the B76 via Skandinaviendamm to Mettenhof to reach Kieler Weg towards Melsdorf. The construction work is expected to pause in time for the Kiel Week, before the third phase begins on June 29, which will involve renewing the asphalt between the Kiel-West motorway interchange and the Kiel-Mitte exit.
