Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov addressed recent statements made by Vladimir Putin, who claimed that the conflict in Ukraine is close to an end. Peskov emphasized that this is due to the "preparatory work" in the peace process and support from the United States, although he did not specify any concrete timelines.

During a press conference on Saturday, Putin stated that the conflict is "near the end." Peskov confirmed that Russia remains open to dialogue and welcomes U.S. mediation efforts. He added, "The existing experience in the peace process suggests that an end is indeed approaching, but specific details cannot be provided at this time."

Additionally, Peskov stated that the war could end "at any time" if the Ukrainian government makes the "necessary decisions." He stressed that the responsibility for ending the conflict lies with the Ukrainian leadership.
