According to Bayerischer Rundfunk, a 23-year-old swimmer has been missing in the Main River near Großwallstadt since Sunday evening. The man reportedly attempted to swim across the river and got into trouble. Around 100 emergency responders from the fire department, water rescue, and police are involved in the search efforts, which have so far been unsuccessful.

The search began on Sunday around 5:45 PM when the missing person entered the water with others at the riverbank. Witnesses reported that the 23-year-old went under near the sports field. Immediate rescue attempts by his companions and the subsequent emergency call led to the mobilization of extensive search resources.

Rescue teams deployed boats, divers, drones, and a police helicopter to locate the missing man. Despite these efforts, he has not yet been found. A police spokesperson stated that the acute rescue search was suspended on Sunday evening, but the search will resume on Monday.

A crisis intervention team is assisting witnesses and relatives affected by the incident. The police will continue searching for the missing person and hope to find him soon.
