The White House posted a TikTok video promoting its immigration policy, set to Ariana Grande’s 2024 song ‘Bye,’ showing federal agents arresting people and handcuffing them, as reported by Zeit.
The singer quickly responded with a comment under the post: ‘Please never use my music in connection with this barbaric, inhumane, and disgusting nonsense.’ According to her team, Grande is considering legal steps to have the song removed from the clip as soon as possible. The White House has not yet commented.
Grande had already criticized the Trump administration last year. The president’s communications team regularly uses popular music for social media videos to promote Trump’s policies – including posts on the tough crackdown on illegal immigration, US military operations against Iran, and the arrest of former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
This case is part of a series of disputes between artists and the Trump administration. Many musicians have previously protested the unauthorized use of their works. EuroPulse reported on June 5, 2026, that the Kennedy Center had to remove Trump’s name from its building after a court ruling (https://europulse.today/kennedy-center-streicht-trump-namen/).
