The two men were sitting on a park bench at around 1:25 p.m. when the stranger insulted them and told them to leave the park. When the couple refused, the man beat them and continued to kick one of them who had fallen to the ground. Both men were injured.
Only when bystanders intervened did the suspect flee on foot toward the Palmengarten. Police describe the man as 40 to 50 years old, of Southern European appearance, with gray hair and a gray beard, wearing black sportswear. They are now asking for public help in the search.
