Berlin’s public transport company BVG is responding to ongoing public criticism and ending its cooperation with the right-wing populist portal Nius. The company announced that the advertising campaign would be stopped “with immediate effect.” Previously, ads for Julian Reichelt’s magazine had been displayed on a BVG bus, among other places.

Nius had come under increasing criticism in recent days. The portal was founded in 2023 by Julian Reichelt, who was previously editor-in-chief of the Bild newspaper. BVG had initially booked the advertising but now felt compelled to act.
