The new production at Lustspielhaus takes on the classic ‘Odyssey’ and promises to shed light on the epic in a humorous way. The cabaret collective, led by Sven Kemmler and Jochen Malmsheimer, has made a name for itself over the past 15 years by regularly reinterpreting classic works. In the past, they have brought Westerns, pirate films, and ‘The Three Musketeers’ to the stage.
The production is supported by a variety of performers who together create a dynamic group experience. Kemmler and Malmsheimer, who lead the ensemble, aim to present the ‘Odyssey’ not only as a literary work but also as an entertaining performance.
The performance is part of a tradition at Lustspielhaus that allows the audience to experience classics in a new light. The blend of humor and classic literature is intended to appeal to both long-time fans and new viewers.
The premiere of the ‘Odyssey’ production will be celebrated with a grand event that also honors the 30-year history of Munich’s favorite band. This celebration will include a tour, a new album, and a documentary film that explores the highs and lows of their career.
