A toxic chemical leaked at the Chempark Dormagen in North Rhine-Westphalia, injuring 25 employees who are now receiving medical treatment, the Chempark reported.
The substance that leaked is phosgene. Chempark stated that safety measures to neutralize it took effect immediately.
Police have launched an investigation into the cause. Measuring vehicles from the Cologne fire department checked the surrounding residential areas and found no abnormalities.
