Getting a driving license in Germany is expensive: on average, learner drivers pay around 3,400 euros. Transport Minister Schnieder now wants to counter this with a reform and simplify the examination rules, as reported by Tagesspiegel.
However, industry experts doubt that this will significantly reduce costs. The high expenses particularly burden families with several children. The federal government wants to help them, but concrete measures have not yet been decided.
